So you’ve scheduled your first orthodontist appointment (or you’re starting with a quick virtual consultation from home) and you’re preparing for a life-changing journey to a beautiful new smile. That’s something to be excited about!
But first, you may have a few questions about the process: “What happens at the first orthodontist appointment? What can I expect?”
We’re here to break it all down – no surprises. Here are five things you can expect at your orthodontist consultation with Wall Orthodontics in Statesboro.
1. You’ll get the Wall Orthodontics experience.
As soon as you walk through our doors, you’ll see that we genuinely love what we do here. Our Statesboro community means everything to us, and we’re honored to have been able to transform more than 10,000 local smiles over the past 15 years.
We keep it personal here and show our appreciation for our patients through little things, like handwritten notes, reserved parking spaces, patient appreciation parties, year-round contests and more. We want to make you smile and keep you smiling!
Once we give you the Wall welcome, we’ll start the exam process.
2. Dr. Wall will examine your smile!
When you first visit us, Dr. Wall will become your personal orthodontist who you’ll see at each visit! You’ll meet Dr. Wall and get to know a little bit about each other.
Dr. Wall will perform a visual exam of your smile and we’ll take some digital x-rays and photos to gain the full picture of your teeth, gums and jaw bones.
3. You’ll choose a treatment!
At your first orthodontic appointment, we’ll help you explore your treatment options so you can choose the one that suits your lifestyle best.
We provide custom KLOwen braces with each bracket custom-designed for each tooth, Invisalign® clear aligners for all ages, EXPERIENCE™ self-ligating braces, aesthetic gold braces, clear braces and metal braces. You have options!
Based on your needs, preferences and lifestyle, Dr. Wall will help you pick the most efficient treatment option. We have the experience necessary to treat you with your choice!
4. We’ll create a payment plan that suits your needs.
We’ll talk finances too! You can choose between 0% interest in-house financing and CareCredit financing.
We’ll present and discuss our financial options with you, and match you with any discount opportunities. We offer a pay-in-full discount, family member discount and military discount.
We’ll also calculate your dental insurance benefit if you have insurance! Our team will submit your insurance claims for you, to help you receive the maximum benefit.
We know it sounds like a lot, but you’ll hear all of this again at your orthodontics appointment. We aim to make every orthodontic appointment a positive experience, and you’ll always be greeted with smiles and friendly faces!
5. You begin treatment and start smiling!
Once your treatment and financing plans are squared away, the next step is transforming your smile.
If you choose Invisalign or custom braces, we’ll take quick digital scans of your smile. For digital impressions, we use the advanced iTero® digital scanner to get a quick scan of your mouth and produce a digital 3D model of your smile, without the discomfort and messiness of traditional putty impressions.
These scans will help Dr. Wall design and personalize your treatment plan so you’ll enjoy the journey and the end results! Once complete, he’ll send your custom treatment plan off so your clear aligners or braces can be created just for you.
Finally, you’ll start braces treatment or pop your aligners in, check in with us remotely through the DentalMonitoring app, and watch your smile transform over the coming months.
